Ford Mustang GT350 may also be leaving.
Leaked documents allegedly show the 2021 Ford Mustang VIN codes. This suggests that the Mach 1 model will be available for the new model year. A post on the Mustang forum suggests that the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 may be the next model. Although it’s impossible to determine if this page is genuine, it looks legit.
The Mach 1 is specifically mentioned in the document as being available as a coupe. Two entries are listed for the 5.0-liter V8 in the list of engines. This suggests that there would be two tunes available for the powerplant. The GT would have one and the Mach 1 would have the other. The Bullitt V8 produces 480 horsepower (358kilowatts), but we wonder if Ford had some engineering magic that drove this number higher.
Already, the Blue Oval confirms that Bullitt will be leaving after 2020. The Mach 1 is the likely replacement, according to all signs including this document. Spy shots show that the vehicle was developed with a camouflaged Bullitt starting point.
The Mach 1 previous was available for 2003-2004. It was a middle-point between the GT Cobra and SVT Cobra. This model had a 4.6-liter V8 with a stronger rear axle and a more powerful version than the Cobra’s independent rear suspension. The styling featured black body accents, and a shaker-hood scoop.
The Shelby GT500 is not mentioned in this document. It also shows only one version of the 5.2-liter engine. This suggests that the GT350 will be discontinued in 2021.
This second, alleged Ford VIN leakage in just 24 hours. The first was focused on the next-gen F150 and included details such as the engine lineup including diesel and hybrid options.
