You will need to pay at least $52,915.
We now know the price of the Mustangmach 1. It was revealed four months ago by Ford. The math starts at $52,915, if you include the destination fees. It is nearly $9,000 less than the GT350, another model dropped after the 2020MY.
We are comparing the Mach 1 to the two discontinued versions because the hot ‘Stang has Bullitt-matching horsepower and a Shelby six-speed manual gearbox. It also adapts the rear-axle cooling, diffuser and suspension bits from GT500. The 2020MY starts at $74,095
A ten-speed manual transmission will also be available for those who don’t want to row their own gears. This was not an option for the Bullitt, as Ford went manual-only with the modern equivalent of Steve McQueen’s lovely ride. Naturally aspirated V8 engines produce a healthy 480 horsepower (358 Kilowatts) along with 420 pound-feet (569 Newton meters) of torque.
The optional Handling Package is one of many ways to improve the Mustang Mach 1. It is only available for Mustang GT models with the manual gearbox. The package adds 150 percent more downforce to the Mustang GT than the Mustang GT and borrows wider Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires from the GT350R at each axle.
Customers can choose an optional appearance package that includes red, white, and orange accent stripes along with black side-and hood stripes. There are several body paint options available, including Mach 1-exclusive Fighter Jet Gray and two 19-inch alloy wheels.
Ford doesn’t say how many Mach 1s will be built. However, the Mustang’s latest version is described as a limited-run model.
