April 12, 2017, was the date Genesis presented the GV80 concept to the New York Auto Show. Two and a quarter years later, the production version is unlikely to be available at your local dealer. Hyundai’s premium division keeps claiming it’s coming but we don’t know when. Motor1.com has attempted to make the waiting easier by trying to visualize the final version of Genesis’ first SUV .
The new Genesis “Crest” grille can be seen on the 2020 G90, currently displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show. However, the flanking headlights are slightly different to those on the full-size sedan. It appears that the cluster is divided rather than being split by the daytime running lamps, as was the case with the flagship model. The split theme will continue to the rear, where the GV80’s headlights will reflect the two-tiered headlights.
