GMC offers an AT4 version for every vehicle except the Savana, which is an archaic model.
GMC had promised in March 2018 that it would release an AT4 version of every vehicle in its lineup with the exception being the Savana, which is more than a decade old. The Sierra AT4 was the first to go, a year before Acadia AT4 was introduced in half of 2019. The Sierra HD AT4 followed, and the Canyon AT4 was finally revealed on Monday.
GMC unveiled the 2021 Yukon in Colorado at last night’s unveiling. It included the regular Yukon and the Yukon XL models, as well as the XT4 model. The Terrain AT4 was also present to complete the “AT4” family of six. The family portrait is shown in an official photo provided by the automaker.
The 2021 GMC Terrain AT4 will be available for purchase this fall. It will also include a nip-and-tuck for the small SUV. The details of the model will be available over time, but these images show that the grille and headlights have been updated. The AT4 model gets its own set wheels, a black chrome grille and black wheel arches. The cabin should get some nice upgrades, as AT4 models often come with a large equipment list. GMC says that the Terrain AT4 is rugged exterior, capable of confident maneuvering, and has advanced technology.
At this time, it’s unknown if GMC has made any modifications to the underside of the hood in comparison to the 2020 terrain. The SUV is available with either a turbocharged 1.5 liter engine that produces 170 horsepower, or a larger 2.0 liter that produces 252 horsepower. The engines are connected to a nine speed automatic transmission that sends 203 pound-feet (275 Newton meters) of torque to each wheel for the 1.5 engine and 260 lbf (353 Nm), for the 2.0.
All details regarding the new SUV should be available closer to the market launch in the fall.
