Honda Sensing comes standard in the entire lineup and offers more functions.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show, April. This is assuming that the Coronavirus doesn’t cause the event to be cancelled as it did for the Geneva Motor Show. The new minivan will be available later in the year. Honda will also announce pricing closer to the launch.
The 2021 Odyssey model features LED headlights that are more visible than the Odyssey. They have been redesigned with running lights in the outer corners, and better-defined lamps. This is similar to Acura’s jewel-like design. The grille is mostly black, with a chrome trim strip at the top. The lower fascia has a single inlet at the center and stacked foglights in the corners. Under the rear window, there is a gloss black trim. The Elite trim level also features redesigned 19 inch wheels and auto-dimming mirrors.
All Odyssey models now come standard with the Honda Sensing driver assistance suite. It also features adaptive cruise control with pedestrian emergency braking and low-speed-following. A new rear-seat reminder alerts drivers to check the back of their vehicle for children and pets. The CabinWatch camera is used by the Elite and Touring grades to display the rear seats on their infotainment displays.
Honda has made changes inside to the design of the climate control system. The second row seats are now easier to fold and take out. Higher grades gain tri-color floor mats in three colors and illuminated USB ports. The EX-L and higher grades also have contrast stitching and power lumbar support for front passengers. There are also storage pockets in the second row seatback. The cabin is finished in piano black with piano black trim on the doors and dashboard. The Elite, which is the top-of-the-line model, has perforated leather in the first and second rows.
Honda doesn’t touch the drivetrain. The 3.5-liter V6 still produces 280 horsepower (209kilowatts) and can be hooked up to a 10-speed manual gearbox.
