2021 Hyundai Tucson Features Fascinating Lights and a High-Tech Cabin

This is quite a departure form the current Tucson.

The 2021 Hyundai Hyundai Tucson will be unveiled on September 14th at 8:30 P.M. EDT (September 15th at 12:30 AM GMT). The automaker has released images that tease the new crossover’s design ahead of its unveiling.

The new Tucson’s grille has an array of trapezoidal elements. These illuminate to create daytime running lights. We know from spy shots that the headlights can be found in the corners and fascia.

A chrome molding runs along the sides and follows the roofline. It then picks up the form of the rear column. 19-inch wheels have a complex and asymmetrical design, with spokes and chunky sections all around the rim.

The back is lit by a red LED, which runs along the length of the vehicle. The tail lamps are integrated into the LED. The lower fascia is silver and appears to pick up color from the strip running along the back pillars. To make the design cleaner, designers have also hidden the rear window wiper.

Hyundai will offer the Tucson with one or two wheelbases, depending on where it is located. The longer version is available in China, Korea and the United States. The shorter layout is available in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Hyundai also showcases the new high-tech Tucson cabin. This rendering appears to be an actual photo, not a photograph like the one on the outside. The digital display of the instrument cluster can now be seen on the touchscreen infotainment screen at the angled central stack. The open area behind the controls makes it appear to be a flying fortress layout.

The teaser from Hyundai doesn’t give any details on the changes to the powertrain range for Tucson. These details will be revealed during the unveiling.
