There will be major styling changes to the compact crossover.
Hyundai is currently working to refresh an old nameplate after expanding its SUV range at both ends, with the small Venue and the not so-tiny Palade. The Tucson will enter its fourth generation in approximately two years. Our spies have already seen it on a few occasions thanks to heavily camouflaged prototypes.
Kolesa.ru has decided to digitally alter these images and remove the mask in order to get a glimpse into the future design of the Tucson. It makes sense that the company’s compact SUV will follow the same design path as the Hyundai SUVs. These renderings were created using spy images. They attempt to predict the major styling changes Hyundai’s second-best-selling model in North America (after Elantra).
To make the Tucson stand out in a crowded segment, the next-gen Tucson will adopt the two-tier headlight arrangement and slim upper clusters from the company’s SUVs. The rendering incorporates the massive grille that features an intricate pattern similar to last year’s Grandmaster Concept. It is consistent with the prototypes.
Since the Tucson’s back remains a mystery, the test cars spotted at work were disguised with a lot of camouflage to hide the styling. Kolesa.ru went the extra mile to give the crossover’s rear a more sleek look. However, we will reserve judgment until prototypes are caught with less camo at their backs.
Hyundai has, through its vice president for styling, already promised a design that will “freak” people. It’s safe to assume the 2021 Tucson won’t be another traditional-styled crossover. It will not only be unique in Hyundai’s high-riding lineup, it will also have the ability to stand out. Hyundai wants the Tucson to be its own brand.
Hyundai has launched a Tucson N Line in Europe, based on its current compact crossover.
