It is also made in Europe.
The Jeep Compass will soon be available in Europe. It was actually there already, but the new Euro-spec 2021 version is built there. The Compass will be produced at FCA’s Melfi plant, Italy. It comes in five trims and is also equipped with numerous upgrades and tweaks. The 4xe plug in hybrid version will be available later in the year.
Let’s discuss the new engine. For European markets, the 2021 Compass will feature a turbocharged 1.3-liter four cylinder. It’s 30% more fuel-efficient than the previous model. It will produce 130 horsepower (97 kilowatts) and can be driven on either the front or all four wheels. There will be five models of Compass: Sport, Longitude and Mighty Eagle. Limited and S will also be available. However, the S model will get a tuned version of the small mill that produces 150 horsepower (112 kW).
Jeep customers can choose from either a six-speed manual transmission, or a new dry dual clutch transmission, regardless of trim level. This is provided that you keep the gasoline engine. There is also a 1.6-liter diesel engine that produces 120 horsepower (85 kW) or 236 pound-feet (312 Newton-meters). Only models equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission can have it.
The plug-in hybrid 4xe will also be available in the second half. It combines the 1.3-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor to produce either 190 or 220 hp (142 kW or 179kW) and will only be available in four-wheel drive trim.
The Uconnect system, which automaker now offers, is available inside the new Compass. This adds services like My Car or Remote that allow remote monitoring, locking/unlocking, and remote monitoring of the vehicle. The standard equipment includes advanced driver-assist systems like forward collision and lane departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control are optional. Parking assist and cross-traffic alarm are also available. Six new wheel options, five exterior colors, and an updated tonneau cover give the model a new look.
Pricing has not yet been revealed. The first front-wheel-drive models will be available in dealerships by the end of this month. Four-wheel drive and 4xe versions will arrive later in the year.
