2021 Kia Sorento Receives a Big Lease Discount To Reduce Base Price Hike

To get the best incentive, opt for the 24-month lease option.

The 2021 Kia Sorento, like all new cars is more expensive than the predecessor. The mid-sized SUV will see a $2,450 price increase if we only consider the base price. Customers can benefit from an introductory lease incentive to reduce their monthly costs.

CarsDirect managed to obtain a bulletin for dealers this week. It revealed a 36-plan starting at $279 per month, with a $3499 down payment, and $800 in manufacturer lease cash. The entry-level trim is $30,560. It has an annual mileage limit at 12,000 miles. The effective monthly cost is $376, or $50 more than the Sorento.

The 24-month lease plan is better as it offers savings up to $2,100 on the same base model of the all new SUV. CarsDirect points out that the 24-month and 36-month leases have the same price, even after considering the higher discount and the higher residual value. Therefore, the decision to choose the 24-month plan is easy.

The best deals are available by choosing the base LX or the S trim. However, the EX and SX do not come with incentives for a 36-month lease. The S trim is $2,500 more expensive than the LX in terms of MSRP, but it costs only $20 per month due to its higher residual value.

CarsDirect recommends against purchasing outright. The best deal via Kia Motor Finance is 1.9 percent APR up to 66 month. The APR increases to 2.9% if the plan is extended to 72 months. A longer plan of 84 months comes with a 3.9% APR.

Lease deals are available through the end of the month, but don’t appear to include the new X-Line trim pictured above. This Sorento is a rugged version of the Sorento, with improved departure and approach angles, higher ground clearance and upgraded AWD.
