The entry-level models that run on gasoline will have a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated unit, while the 2.5-liter turbocharged units will power the more expensive models. According to the report, there will be a 2.0- and 2.2-2-liter turbodiesel engine.

Already, Kia plans to electrify its next Sorento using hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. A similar solar roof to the Sonata Hybrid is expected to be offered. The SUV will offer an unspecified number of miles per year. Hyundai claims that the sedan will get an additional 1,300 km (808 miles) annually if it charges for six hours per day.

Kia will publish the first images of its revamped Sorento model on February 20, ahead of a KDM launch during the second quarter. It is possible that the global version will follow.
