Let’s pray there aren’t more cancellations.
The situation regarding the coronavirus epidemic is stable in most parts of the world. It’s not perfect, but it’s stable. According to , 46 million doses of vaccine have been administered in the United States. Although there is hope that things will return to normal soon, that doesn’t necessarily mean that we won’t have an auto show this spring.
The Los Angeles Auto Show organizers have announced that the 2021 edition has been moved to November 17-18 at Los Angeles Convention Center. Last year reports suggested that the show might take place in May, but coronavirus concerns have caused the delay.
L.A. is not the only major auto show that has been canceled or postponed. The Geneva Motor Show will not have a 2021 edition, and we hope it will return next years. This show, near Lake Geneva, is the largest in the industry. It brings together companies from around the globe who operate in different segments of the automotive industry.
Recenty, the Tokyo Auto Salon was also cancelled , but there were still several online premieres. The 2021 Consumer Electronics Show, which Mercedes-Benz held online, was also a digital event.
Although we don’t intend to disrupt the party, there are very few chances that we will have public gatherings again before the end of the second half. Let’s hope the world is moving slowly, but steadily towards normalization. This will undoubtedly lead to the return to auto shows in some form.
