The double debut, as with previous premieres, will be exclusively online.
It was beginning to be difficult to believe that Mercedes would take so long to unveil the new Mercedes E-Class Coupe or Convertible. But now, we have a debut date: May 27. The updated sedan and wagon were introduced in March. The sleeker two-door models will be unveiled during a digital debut as this is the norm due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Mercedes won’t give any details about the new features, but the 2021 E-Class Sedan will show you how less practical alternatives will be modified for the mid-cycle refresh. The agenda includes a complete redesign and reshaping of the headlights, as well as some modifications to the taillight graphics.
The coupe and convertible will be equipped with the MBUX infotainment systems and upgraded driver assistance systems. The 2021 S Class will also get a new steering wheel. It has built-in sensors that detect whether the driver is holding the wheel. The new steering wheel is also available in Sport, Luxury and Supersport configurations by Mercedes in the 2021 E-Class Sedan.
The EClass Coupe will be updated by Mercedes in the EMG E53 specification. It has the same 429 horsepower (520 Newton-meters), and 384 poundfeet (384 lb-ft) of torque. The turbocharged inline-6 3.0-liter engine will be mated to the gearbox. It will produce 21 horsepower and 184 lbft (250 Nm), while also serving its purpose as a starter-generator.
Although the EClass Convertible will likely receive the same revisions that its fixed-roof sibling the E-Class Convertible , Mercedes may offer more colors for the soft-top. The sedan will get more options and colors, but the bumpers will have some minor adjustments.
The range-topping AMG E63 will likely be available soon in both sedan and wagon body options.
