It’s not a secret at all.
The Nissan Kicks was introduced to the US in 2018. It replaced the quirky-looking Juke as a subcompact crossover. The Motor1.com team has praised the vehicle for its size, features, and usability, even though it is equipped with a CVT that turns only the front wheels. Nissan has teased a facelift for 2021. We’ve seen it before.
In May 2020, the 2021 kicks was launched in Thailand. It is a hybrid that uses a small gasoline engine to charge the batteries and drive the electric motor. It is not known if this powertrain option will be available in the US. Nissan hasn’t provided any details. The most noticeable difference to the previous model is the larger V-Motion grille. The big grille demands a new front fascia. This update adds thinner headlights to connect to the prominent sculpting either side of grille. Although the front is bolder, this is where most of the changes are made. The Kicks will see minor modifications to the greenhouse and updated taillights. The in-dash infotainment screen has a larger size and the shift stalk is smaller. These should reflect the changes made on December 8. Although there is no guarantee that the Kicks in Thailand will be the same as the ones for the US, it seems unlikely. We can also see the outline of the Nissan’s teaser photo at the top of this article. At this point, we are only able to learn more about the updated features and equipment as well as whether or not the Kicks will continue to be a price leader in the subcompact crossover segment. Motor1.com will have the 2021 Nissan Kicks debut December 8.
