Peugeot’s amazing i-Cockpit has also been updated.
Europe’s compact crossover market is highly competitive. This is because almost all brands want to be part of this growing segment. Customers are moving away from sedans, and hatchbacks. Peugeot makes some of the most appealing crossovers in the industry, with the 3008 being a prime example, especially when we are talking about the second generation.
The i-Cockpit’s cabin has received a new 10-inch touchscreen that replaces the 8-inch infotainment screen in the previous model. The dashboard is complemented by a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display that can be customized to your liking. Automatic transmission models now include selectable Normal, Sports, and Eco driving modes. Drivers can choose between 4WD, Hybrid and Sport modes with the hybrid 3008.
There will be many powertrains available, starting with the turbocharged 1.2-liter gasoline motor with three cylinders. The engine produces 130 horsepower, and it can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed auto. You can upgrade to the four-cylinder, 1.6-liter engine to get 180 horsepower. This power is channeled exclusively through an 8-speed auto.
The 2021 Peugeot 3008 facelift diesel can be fitted with a four-cylinder 1.5 liter engine producing 130 horsepower in both manual or automatic modes. There are two hybrid models available. The first is a two-wheel-drive model that combines a 180-horsepower engine with an electric motor of 110 horsepower and an eight-speed transmission. The combined output is 225 hp (or 360 Nm) and can reach speeds of 140 mph (225 km/h) in just 8.7 seconds.
The top-of-the-line variant features a 200-hp gasoline motor, a 110-hp electric motor in the front and an 112-hp electric motor in the rear. The only all-wheel drive 3008 is available with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The crossover’s combined output is a respectable 300 horsepower and 520 Nm (384lb-ft), which allows it to complete the sprint in just 5.9 seconds, en route reaching 146 mph (253 km/h).
The hybrid models use a 13.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that provides enough juice to provide 35 miles (56 km) of WLTP certified range for the two-wheel drive model, and 37 miles for the all-paw model. The updated Peugeot 3008 will be available in Europe by the end of this year.
