2021 Peugeot 308 Redesigned With A New Striking Design

Hot Peugeot Sport Engineered versions could boast more than 300 electrified horses.

The Peugeot 308 has been in production since 2013. It is the most popular compact hatchback in Europe. The VW Golf, Renault Megane, and the Kia Ceed are all much more recent, but the Peugeot 308 is still a popular choice. We are trying to predict the radical design approach of the new generation with our weekly speculative render.

This design exercise is not just a shot in dark. It follows the Instinct concept, a sharp looking wagon that impressed the crowd at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017. This Peugeot car was the first to receive the stylish LED daytime running light that extends from the bumper. It is a design motif that has been used on many production models.

The design will undergo major changes. But so will its underpinnings. The EMP2 platform will be used to upgrade the 308, which will allow for the availability of a plug-in hybrid powertrain in addition to conventional gasoline and diesel engines. The GTi badge could be added to an electric version, as well as a crossover version that will slot between the 2008 and 3008.

According to the grapevine, a spicy Peugeot Sport Engineered version is being developed in the same vein of the 508PSE. The all-wheel-drive configuration will have the combustion engine driving the front axle, and the electric motor driving the rear. This configuration would allow Peugeot an output of over 300 horsepower, allowing it to compete with the forthcoming VW Golf R.

Due to low demand, the next 308 will be available in wagon and five-door hatchback versions.
