It is ready for production.
Spy photos showing additional versions of the new Porsche 911 were literally flooding our pages over the past few weeks. Today is no different. We now have a chance to see the next-gen 911 GTS Cabrio in Coupe as well as Cabrio.
The exterior camouflage is absent on this prototype in red, and it’s ready to show off its design. Although the styling is identical to the 911 Carrera models, at least in front, there are a few minor tweaks to the grille section and the lower bumper. We are unable to see any visible changes in the back, but we could have some more.
It is very fascinating to see the dashboard covered. We’re confident that the GTS models will have the same layout as the Carrera models. This makes us wonder why Porsche doesn’t hide the interior and leave the exterior unmasked.
The GTS Cabriolet’s engine will be a turbocharged flat-six 3.0-liter Porsche engine. The 911 GTS was powered by 450 horsepower (335 Kilowatts). With the new Carrera S models delivering 444 hp (331kW), we expect that the new GTS will have 460 hp (343kW).
The motor will come standard with a six-speed manual gearbox. An optional dual-clutch seven speed automatic will be available. According to the rumors, the standard equipment will include the Sport Exhaust or Sports Chrono packages.
We believe this undisguised prototype is a sign that Porsche is working on the Cabriolet model. The upgraded convertible will debut in spring 2020, with sales beginning just in time to go open-top.
