2021 Ram Rebel TRX Allowedly Has Adjustable Suspension and Steering

It could borrow parts from the Hellcat parts bin.

The automaker continues to leak information about the 2021 Ram Rebel TX. Although there isn’t much information coming from the automaker, many insiders are sharing their thoughts, which gives us a glimpse behind the development curtain. Allpar.com’s latest report suggests that the TRX, a hopped-up and off-road-ready TRX, will continue to pillage FCA’s parts bin. It may borrow from the Dodge Challenger, Charger SRT Hellcat models, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

Allpar.com has been informed by anonymous FCA source that the TRX will feature a drive mode selector. This allows for many of the same parameters to be changed as on the Hellcats and Trackhawks. This means that many aspects of the vehicle will be adjustable, including throttle sensitivity, stability control, shift points and more.

This includes adjustable steering and suspension systems. Allpar.com explains that it is not clear whether the TRX will keep the Ram’s air suspension or switch to electric dampers. This would be more in line than what’s on the high-performance FCA models. According to the publication, the adjustable electric power steering system allows for different levels and stiffness.

A bit more news: The various drive modes can change the parameters of some TRX models while others could keep some of those parameters fixed. Allpar.com does not go into detail, but it seems like there may be a variety of TRX trims. Recent rumors suggest that the truck’s supercharged, 6.2-liter V8 could generate several power outputs. This further suggests that the TRX could offer a variety of trims.

We’ve been waiting patiently for the 2021 Ram Rebel TRX to arrive. Although the concept was first revealed in 2016, it teased a Ford Raptor competitor. However, FCA granted the TRX permission to go into production late last year. Since then, the company has kept quiet about the truck. However, we are nearing the reveal of the truck – although we don’t know the exact date or location, but it should be later in the year. We expect more information and spy photos from test vehicles to emerge.
