Confirmed: Console shifter and supercharged V8
What are we seeing this time? TFLoffroad received an anonymous email with six images. Four of them focus on the interior. The large tamale shows a clearly visible view of a leather-clad chair with TRX stitched in the back. We can see camo netting over the rear window behind the seat, which suggests that these photos were taken in a rush from a prototype camouflaged with camo. The blurry photos and strange angles in the collage could be because the person was not supposed to crawl around the truck. Also, we get a good look at the shifter located in the center console. There is no rotary dial for TRX. The truck also appears to have a trailer control function. The last interior shot shows a strange silver representation of a person, truck, Tyrannosaurus Rex and, possibly, a small Velociraptor as they chase each other. This is an Easter Egg that’s located at the bottom of the center console. It’s obvious it’s a dig at the Ford F-150 Raptor. It’s not clear if it will transition to production, but it does seem a bit cheesy.
Two more leaked photos were allegedly taken under the hood. The first photo is the air intake. It has RAM in large letters at its opening. Although the other photo is a bit more obscure, it’s the housing of the supercharger for the Hellcat 6.2-liter V8 engine. Since well over a decade, Ram has been rumored to drop the monster engine into the TRX – our exclusive tipter even stated that one prototype truck had the 840-horsepower demon engine. It’s not clear how much power the truck will have.
These questions will be answered when? This is a difficult question to answer, since Coronavirus has been delaying almost everything. According to our latest information, Rebel TRX production will begin in September with a reveal at the end June.
