This stylish crossover comes with Land Rover’s latest, more intuitive infotainment technology.
The second-generation Range Rover Evoque was introduced by Land Rover only two years ago. However, the crossover has already seen a number of improvements. As seen a few months ago on the European-specification model, the engineers have managed to cram even more technology into the Audi Q3 rival while adding an optional cabin air filtration system.
The tech is the first thing to mention. The 2021 Evoque comes standard with the latest Pivi Pro infotainment software. It allows for over-the-air updates. The interface is more intuitive, with most functions available in just a few taps. Pivi Pro is unique in that it has its own rechargeable power source. This allows it to go into sleep mode when the car’s off. The infotainment “wakes” up in seconds after the driver jumps into the Evoque.
Land Rover will install up to seven USBC ports in 2021. An optional wireless pad is also available behind the lower touchscreen. A new radar-based Rear Collision Monitor has been added, as well as a revised version the water-resistant Active Key. This model now comes with an LCD watch for additional convenience. The Evoque comes standard with a 3D surround-view camera, which can work at speeds up to 19 mph.
The cabin air filter system mentioned above is extra expensive and works in conjunction with the optional air ionization systems introduced for the second-generation Evoque. You can tap on the Purify button or set it up to auto and it will reduce allergens and fine particles to 2.5 microns or smaller.
The model year switch also brings about changes such as a three-spoke steering wheels with capacitive buttons, better lumbar support and a new three-spoke steering column. Outside, buyers have the option to order the 2021 Evoque with new Lantau Bronze or Portofino Blue paints and a 19-inch alloy wheel.
The updated crossover was already available in the US online configurator. It starts at $43,300 for a base Evoque P250 and goes up to $53,400 for an Evoque R Dynamic HSE P250. Although spy shots revealed that a longer-wheelbase variant is being developed, it is not clear if the larger version will make its way to the United States.
