You can have everything you need in a car, as long as it is a major brand.
Skoda’s Monday unveiling of the fourth-generation Octavia has fueled a number of independent artists who are trying to imagine possible derivatives of the Czech Republic’s best-selling car. Both the Scout and RS have been confirmed for a 2020 debut. After seeing a speculative rendering on Thursday of the former, it is logical to share a digital exercise.
It’s easy to see the Octavia Scout’s design after looking at the regular Combi. Skoda has made ‘s design language quite predictable. For extra ground clearance (up to 30 mm for the old model), you can add black plastic body cladding and rear skid plates to provide better protection if you’re off the beaten track. After using the official foundation images of the standard wagon, did this.
The VW Golf Alltrack’s Czech alter-ego will likely look something like this when it is revealed next year. An automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive are a given. Although the engines will be used in the regular Octavia Combi model, don’t expect to see the smaller three-cylinder 1.0-liter turbo.
The technical specifications of the new Octavia reveal that the 1.5 TSI cannot be purchased with all-wheel drive. It might be the same story for next year’s Scout. The 2.0 TSI, which has 190 horsepower and 320 Newton meters (236 pound-feet), of torque, is likely to be installed under the rugged wagon’s roof. The 2.0 TDI diesel engine will likely be available in 150 hp or 200 hp versions, with 360 Nm (266 Lb-ft) respectively. These four-cylinder engines can all be connected to a standard Octavia Combi’s seven-speed DSG.
You can expect a reveal at an auto show in Geneva in March, or in Paris in September.
