2021 VW Teramont updated in Russia as Europe’s Atlas

The Volkswagen Atlas model is one of the most popular models built on the modular MQB platform. It is available as a seven-seater in America as well as a smaller Atlas Cross SUV. It is also available in China as the coupe-SUV version. In Russia, it is called the Teramont. This version has been updated for the local market.

The Teramont facelift is almost identical to American Atlas. However, there are a few visual differences that will help you distinguish it from its American counterpart. The Teramont’s front bumper has bigger air openings and chrome trim. There are also new wheel designs and small badges that aren’t found on the US model.

Two powertrain options are available for the refreshed seven-seater for Russia. There are two powertrain options: a base engine with 220 horsepower (164 kilowatts), and a naturally aspirated V6 that produces 250 horsepower (186 kW). Customers get an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard and a 4Motion all wheel-drive system that channels the power to all four wheels.

The Teramont’s new version will be available in Russia in just a few weeks. It comes in four trim levels. The base Respect model receives an infotainment system that includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen with voice control, six speakers and wireless mobile phone charging interface.

Customers can also have an electric tailgate depending on their grade. Keyless access and engine start are available, as well as adaptive cruise control. There are many safety and assist systems and LED lights. The R-Line trim is the most expensive, but you will have to pay an additional fee for the panoramic roof or parking heater with remote control.
