BMW Motorsport will not replace the M6 GT3 in 2022, but the new M4 GT3 has been out on the streets already, racking up development mileage. was originally teased in 2019. Augusto Farfus, the works driver, is behind the wheel of the M4 GT3. This week’s first tests are being conducted at the company’s test center in southern France. Further testing will take place in 2021 on a competitive level. The race car is intimidating from the side, thanks to its massive wing and flared front fenders. If you look closely, you will see the roll cage in the cabin for one-seaters. It has been stripped down to its essentials in order to reduce weight.
The teaser previously showed that the race car would share the XXL kidney grille from the and the M4 Coupe. Both will be officially launched in September. Bavaria’s new race car will join the M2 CS Racing lineup, M240i Racing and M4 GT4 as well as the M8 GTE.
CFD computer simulations were used to develop the new M4 GT3 in 2019. BMW Motorsport then tested it in February. Initial tests were conducted using a scaled-down 60 percent model of the racecar.
