The new X1 is gradually taking shape.
New spy photos reveal more details about the next-generation BMW X1. The high-riding Bimmer was spotted in Germany alongside a variety of BMW protos (including what appears to be an hotter version), and is sporting its production headlights.
We’re happy to report that the radiator grilles will not grow in size over the previous model. This prototype also shows a sporty design for lower sections of the bumper. Although this may give us an idea of the M Sport package for the new X1, there are still many details that we don’t know.
Our photographers claimed that this model was traditional combustion-powered and the exhaust arrangement at its back suggests it to be a diesel model. We can now see the rear end. BMW has stopped testing the crossover with provisional clusters.
Designer Magnus used the most recent spy photos to create the rendering that you see at this page. Concepts This previews the front end design with the updated headlights and larger grilles. It also shows the lower grille arrangement, as shown in the spy photos. You can also see the new crossover door handles, which are based on the ones seen on the i4.
2022 BMW X1 (codenamed U11), will arrive in the USA at some point next to year. It will come with a variety of powertrains, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric. While the more economical versions will have front wheels, an AWD system will be available if desired. The new X1 will be fully revealed by the end of this year, with a 2022 market launch.
