You know the drill: slightly larger grille, modified lights.
A new BMW X3 version is available. We just received our first spy photos showing the compact SUV at the beginning August. They show tweaks to the X3’s front and rear fascias. Nikita Chuiko from Kolesa.ru has already created a pair renderings that show how the final product might look.
Mid-cycle refreshes by BMW tend towards conservative approaches. This is the approach used in these renderings. As is the case with most automakers these days, the grille does expand slightly. The X3 is not expected to move in the same direction as the 4 Series. That’s why this article isn’t. The X5 could inspire slimmer headlights, reshaped intakes for air and trapezoid exhaust outlets at rear. The taillights need to be slimmed down, but the main takeaway is that if you like the current X3, then you will probably love the new one.
These renderings are very accurate. This is a question that will not be answered until the new X3 has been officially revealed. However, our first prototype sightings showed a vehicle with standard dual exhaust pipe at the rear. It is possible that the exact dimensions of the grille or the design of the lower intakes may vary. While the rest of the package will be identical to the 2017 X3, small interior changes may be made for the driver or passengers. These exterior renderings don’t show such things.
Our first X3 sighting was just a few days ago as of this post. This means that there is still a lot of time before the reveal. We are likely to see a European unveiling sometime next year, even with minor modifications. This means that the U.S. might not see the refreshed X3 until 2022.
