The high-riding Bolt EUV will be joining it.
Chevrolet has many new electric or electrified vehicles under development. The Bolt will be redesigned and a new high-riding version, BoltEUV. This will be a slightly modified and rebadged version of the Buick Velite, which was sold in China. The former will be the direct successor to the original Bolt. We are pleased to share the first spy photos of the Bolt.
Photos courtesy of our friends and colleagues CarExpert These photos were taken in Australia, but they were actually taken by a New York contributor to the magazine. Derek Fung, a journalist from New York, was able to capture a few shots of the Bolt prototype while it was parked in a nearly empty parking lot.
The zero-emission hatchback appears sharper than its predecessor, the Bolt. Although it’s too soon to know for certain, the front end of the Blazer will likely be heavily inspired. This includes the split headlights. The front fascia is still covered in camouflage, but underneath are two rows of lights.
However, little is known about the inner workings of the skin. The current Bolt’s electric motor is capable of producing 201 horsepower (150 Kilowatts) and 266 pounds-feet (360 Newton meters) of torque at its peak. According to the EPA standards, the range between two charges can be 258 miles (416 km).
It is worth noting that the China-only Buick Velite has 174 hp (130 kW) and can travel 311 miles (500km) on a single charge.
Next year, when the Bolt makes its official debut, we will have more information. It is expected to arrive in the second half, with sales starting in the latter part of 2021 or early-2022.
