Based on the Chevrolet Bolt, a new crossover is in the works. The teasers that were released last month have made it official. It will be called Bolt EUV, and the unofficial rendering was taken from TopElectricSUV.com.
Here’s a quick refresher on the Chevy Bolt EUV. The name was first mentioned in 2019, when we received a report regarding a trademark filing. It has been suggested that the Bolt-based crossover electric vehicle will be named after it, which could bring utility to the mix.
Chevrolet confirmed that it would be making an electric vehicle at its Orion facility, in addition to the Bolt. Our spy photographers spotted the prototype of the BoltEUV in May 2020. This confirmed the initial rumors. As you can see, it was covered in heavy camouflage.
Chevy teased Bolt EUV before 2020 was over. A series of photos and a video showing the sequential turn signals of the crossover EV were also shared. These teasers are the basis for TopElectricSUV‘s rendering. We won’t be surprised to see the Bolt EUV’s side profile.
Although the launch date for the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is not known at this time, production is expected to begin in the summer. The Bolt EUV will likely be revealed in the summer of 2022, with the Bolt hatchback coming shortly after.
The Chevy Bolt EUV will be the first electric vehicle produced to use the Super Cruise semi-autonomous drive system. The Bolt EUV won’t use GM’s Ultium technology but you can still expect more than 311 miles (500 km) per NEDC cycle.
