2022 Chevy Corvette Z06 Will Supposely Have 800 Horsepower

It will be 150 horsepower more powerful than the Z06 front-engine engine.

Although the C8 Corvette Stingray is out now, Chevy continues to enjoy its popularity on automotive media platforms. The new ‘Vette is the first ever mid-engine American Sports Car. It also boasts an impressive LT2 engine, which can produce 495 naturally-aspirated horsepower (or 369 kilowatts). It can go from 0-60 miles per hour in under three seconds.

While that sounds impressive enough, a new report states that the hotter Corvette Z06, which is slotted to come out in two years, will have a ridiculously-powerful engine behind the seats. According to Automobile The Corvette Z06 will be powered a twin-turbo V8 that is based on the Cadillac CT6-V’s Blackwing However, it is under a different name.

The Blackwing produces only 550 horsepower (410 kW). However, the report suggests that the Z06’s powerplant could produce 800 hp (597kW) at maximum. The Z06 will have a terrifying pull of 700 lb-ft (949Nm) torque.

The outgoing Corvette Z06 front-engined can only produce 650 horsepower (485 kW) or 650 lbft (881Nm) torque. This rumor suggests that this is the most powerful Corvette ever made.

However, don’t be too excited. These are speculations at the moment and should not be taken as fact.

Automobile reports that the Corvette Z06 will be sporting a 10-speed dual-clutch transmission instead of the C8’s 7 speed DCT. The Z06 may also have a manual option, but that’s just a rumor.
