Cutouts on the topographical map fender motif could be used to help drivers measure water crossings.
Ford enjoys putting Easter eggs onto its vehicles, from the Mustang emblem etched into its windshield to a Baja 1000 checkpointmap on the F150 Raptor’s bed graphics . People are already combing the new 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades SUV with a fine-tooth comb. Robby DeGraff, an AutoPacific analyst, has the best Twitter take: The fender graphic features a ruler that allows drivers to measure depth when water is being dragged.
Bronco Everglades proudly displays its national park’s topographical maps on the bodyside accent. But, if you look closely, you will see small horizontal notches in vinyl that reveal the car’s paintwork underneath. These cutouts, which are a few inches apart, could be used to measure water depth in small bodies of water. Their placement should be easy to see through the side windows. Ford has not yet responded to our inquiry. We have tried to find out if it was an accident or intentional move
Ford, unlike other automakers that discourage water crossings is proud to boast about the new Bronco’s remarkable capability. For a total 36.4 ticks, engineers relocated the Everglades’ differential, transmission and transfer case breathing tube to give it an additional 3 inches of water-fording capability. The Everglades has an exclusive intake snorkel which supplies the engine with cool, clean air in wet, snowy or dusty conditions. It can be oriented forward or back depending on the need.
At the very minimum, it must be stated that the Everglades’ water depth is ideal. However, off-roaders should avoid fast currents or muddy substrates. Before setting out, it is important to thoroughly inspect and measure all water crossings.
The Bronco Everglades offers a standard 10,000-pound Warn winch with 100-foot synthetic line. This will help you save your day or to assist a fellow motorist who didn’t ensure their vehicle would cross the road.
