It is impossible to retrofit the missing features.
Two months ago, we reported on the possibility of the 2022 Ford Bronco losing its factory-installed navigator system. The information was not confirmed at the time by an automaker representative and the off-roader went on as normal. It seems that the 2022 Bronco has lost two of its cloud navigation options, as they are no more available in the options sheet.
Leaked For Dealer bulletin obtained from Bronco Nation Submitted by Autoblog.com It is revealed that the Connected Navigation and Connected Build-In Navigation options have been removed from the list of available options as of May 30, 2022 Bronco . These changes do not affect retail custom orders placed before Ford closed its 2022 order books. This feature is only applicable to dealer stock orders currently being processed.
Customers will not receive traffic and gas price updates or route guidance. The discontinuation in connected navigation is a temporary measure. Annual map updates as well as home zone quarterly maps updates will also be discontinued.
Our sources reveal that Broncos without these features are not possible to be added later. This is the most shocking piece of information we have. This includes the fact that the Bronco doesn’t have dedicated off-road or towing features.
Although this is a disappointing move, it is at least slightly less aggressive than the initial reports. In April, there was word that Ford would stop installing built-in navigation systems. A company spokesperson told us that the automaker was looking at “many options” to get vehicles to customers faster due to the global shortage of semiconductor chips.
