Jim Farley, Ford CEO, tweeted the official numbers Tuesday afternoon.
The 2022 Bronco Raptor was introduced by Ford earlier this year. The Blue Oval stated that the SUV’s high-performance performance would produce more than 400 horsepower. Ford has not forgotten that promise. Today, Ford confirmed that the new Bronco will have 418 horsepower (311 Kilowatts) as well as 440 pound-feet (596 Newton meters) of torque.
This power comes from Ford’s twin-turbocharged EcoBoost 3.0-liter engine. It also powers the Ford Explorer ST. The Bronco Raptor engine produces more power. The Bronco Raptor’s power is matched by a high fuel economy rating. It returns 15 MPG in the city, 17 MPG highway and 15 MPG combined.
Bronco Raptor is the halo vehicle of the Bronco brand and has all the necessary kit. Bronco’s new version features larger front and back driveshafts, upgraded Dana wheels, an upgraded transfer case and other improvements to handle all the power.Ford turned to Ultra4 Racing to enhance the Raptor’s suspension. The SUV now has 13.0 inches front suspension travel and 14.0 rear. It also has 13.1 inches of ground clearance. Ford also installed sensors to monitor suspension height and adjust damper settings automatically. The Bronco Raptor’s height also increases by 8.6 inches. All those upgrades are protected by skid plates that cover the critical parts.
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon392 has a higher output than the Raptor, which is powered by a 6.4-liter engine to produce 470 horsepower (354 kW), and 470lb-ft (637Nm) of torque. However, the Wrangler’s additional power comes at a higher price. It starts at $78,690, compared to the Raptor at $69,995 (prices do not include destination fees). The Wrangler’s increased power can also affect its fuel economy rating. It gets 13 mpg in the city, 17 on the highway and 14 combined.
Although the Bronco Raptor has less power than the Wrangler Rubicon392 the real test will be what lies beneath their hoods. The Bronco Raptor and Ford were designed to be dominant off-road.
