Black trim lovers rejoice!
Recent Ford vehicles have adopted black appearance packages as a standard offering. Blacked-out trims with darkened Blue Ovals are attractive designs. At least, that’s what popularity and demand dictate.
The Black Appearance Package was offered by the American automaker in its previous generation, the Ford F-150. While the initial model year of the fourteenth-generation F-150 doesn’t come with the said package, the upcoming 2022 model year is said to be arriving with a variety of Black Appearance Packages. A STX Black Appearance package will be available.
According to Ford Authority citing sources familiar with this matter, the following is what they claim. We have some details to help you paint a picture of the new option, though no images are available.
The publication states that the STX Black Appearance package will only be available on XL models with 101A High equipment options on SuperCab or SuperCrew bodies, as well as the regular STX Appearance package.
The following packages will not be available: 3.3L Duratec V6, EcoBoost V6 with two wheel drive, eight-way driver’s seat power, Heavy-Duty payload package, STX Appearance package, and XL Chrome Appearance package. The F150 Hybrid will not have this option.
Specifications: The STX Black Appearance Package will include body-color front bumpers and rear bumpers, as well as a box side sticker (except for FX4 Package), black bodyside stickers (four-wheel drive or FX4), glossy 20-inch aluminum wheels and black dual exhaust tips. It will also include matte black F-150 tailgate logo and exterior badges in black.
These are only preliminary details. Once Ford announces the changes, we’ll have more information. Keep us updated.
