It will allow you to tow while driving hands-free.
The 2022 GMC Sierra 1550 Denali will come with General Motors’ Super Cruise system in the latter part of that model year. This latest version of the technology will enable you to tow a trailer without having to drive.
According to Getting Super Cruise, the Sierra 1500 is equipped with a new cluster of digital instruments. The digital instruments are now located on the opposite side of the current layout. You can also add the Super Cruise indicator to the top of your steering wheel.
GMC does not yet know the cost of the Super Cruise system on Sierra 1500 Denali. Cadillac models come with three years of functionality. After that, the $25 per month fee for the service is due. Super Cruise is not available to anyone who doesn’t pay the $25 per month fee. Other safety tech, such as adaptive cruise control or lane-keep assist, will continue to work.
Cadillac extended the Super Cruise availability to the C4 , C6 and Escalade models for the 2021 model years. The Bolt EUV, the first Bowtie vehicle to receive the system is in production since summer 2021. This means that sales will begin for the 2022 model years. GM plans to offer the technology on 22 models by 2023.
Since its inception, the Super Cruise system has not stagnated. GM has been increasing the number of roads that Super Cruise owners can use, with more than 200,000 miles now covered. The tech can perform automatic lane changes with the help of moving the turn signal.
GM is reportedly developing an even more advanced driver-assistance system, which would likely go under Ultra Cruise. The tech is still in development, so details are not yet available. However, it will likely be more competitive than Tesla Autopilot.
