Finally, the refresh is here.
GMC had planned to release a new Terrain crossover in 2021, but the coronavirus epidemic struck. The coronavirus pandemic forced General Motors (GMC) to postpone the rollout of several new products including Terrain. It was pushed back to 2022. Today, GMC officially announces the arrival of the updated crossover. It has been seen in AT4 and Denali versions.
GMC has revealed new details about its crossover, including the AT4 off-road-oriented AT4 model. This completes GMC’s plan of offering the trim on all models. For 2022, the AT4 model is new to Terrain. Package includes trim-specific wheels, a black chrome grille and black wheel arches as well as badging. The package will include a front skid plate. However, that is not the only Terrain option. Terrain Denali is on the other side of the spectrum. Immediate photobomb in GMC family pic, this was earlier in the year. It focuses on luxury, with subtle styling and more common features like a head-up display.
The Terrain lineup has the Elevation Edition, available in both SLE and SLT trims. This edition adds visual upgrades such as unique wheels or accents. On the SLE and SLT trims, you have the option to add a head-up display. New styling is also available for the Terrain with a new grille and front fascia, new taillights and taillights, four new colors, and new 19- and 18-inch wheels.
2022 updates include Terrain automatic emergency brake, lane-keep assistance with lane departure warning, forward collimation alert, front pedestrian slowing, following distance indicator and IntelliBeam beam headlights. One engine is available for the Terrain: a turbocharged 4-cylinder 1.5-liter that produces 170 horsepower (126kilowatts) as well as 203 pound-feet (295 Newton-meters). The engine is paired with GM’s 9-speed automatic transmission. The 2022 GMC Terrain SLE and SLT will be available this summer. The 2022 Terrain Denali will arrive in the fall.
