We haven’t seen the 2022 Honda Civic sedan yet. Thanks to images published on China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology website, it’s been less than one week. Although the model we saw was headed to the People’s Republic of China, it’s not hard to believe that it’s the same as the 11th-generation Civic sedan prototype.
The California Air Resources Board has published the most recent engine certification and vehicle information.
You can access the source link to see the filings that show executive orders issued to carmakers in 2022. Honda filed the executive order on January 21, 2021.
The document, which you can download from the website, shows the two most familiar engines for the Civic sedan model year 2022. There are two options for engines: the turbocharged 1.5-liter and base 2.0-liter gasoline motors. Also, the document indicated that CVT would continue to be the transmission option for the upcoming model. Manual will not be.
The Honda Civic is the outgoing Honda Civic . It has both of the engines mentioned in the lineup. The 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated engine produces 158 horsepower (118kilowatts), while a smaller turbocharged 1.5 liter makes up to 174 HP (130 kW).
These engine options may not be finalized as the official reveal but you can rest assured that they will appear on the official specification sheet.
