2022 Honda Civic adds 34 HP and 50 LB-FT with Aftermarket Tune

It didn’t take too long.

The 2022 Honda Civic was introduced in April. Honda doesn’t like to leave its customers waiting. The Civic was redesigned in June. This gave tuners ample time to figure out how to get more power from the car. However, it would not have been a difficult task. The Honda Civic 11th-generation uses the same powertrains as the 10th-gen model. This includes the turbocharged 1.5-liter four cylinder.

Hondata is a well-known tuning company that can tune Civics. They reprogrammed the ECU to make it more powerful. The tune increases the car’s 180 horsepower (134 kilowatts), and 177 poundfeet (248 Newton-meters), to 214 HP (159 kW), and 227 Lb-ft (307Nm) of torque. This is an increase of 34 Hp (25 kW), and 50 Lb-ft (667 Nm). This is a substantial increase in power, and the tune can be tweaked to make it even more powerful.

The engine received a slight power boost for the 2022 Civic by Honda adding 6 horsepower (4.5 kW), and 15 lb/ft (20 Nm) to the turbo 1.5-liter. Similar efforts could be made for the 2022 Si. The Hondata tune will probably still outperform it. The 2022 Civic Si is expected to go on sale in late 2018. However, we know that it will only come in the sedan body design. It will be available with a manual transmission, at least initially. This would be quite bold. If you’re looking to add the 2022 Civic to your garage, there are plenty of performance upgrades that can be done. A quick Google search of eBay Motors shows that there are plenty of performance chips, larger turbos, and body kit options for the new Civic.
