It will be revealed in the next month.
Yesterday Honda teased the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback by publishing a colorful teaser in which the car was draped in silhouette. Although the hatchback was visible in the teaser, there were few ways to conceal it. However, the majority of the car was kept in shadows. One CivicXi.com forum member turned up the brightness of the teaser image to show what Honda did not want us to see.
The next-gen Honda Civic Hatchback is very similar to the Honda Civic Sedan, which debuted in April. However, the trunk has been replaced by the hatch. The Civic Hatchback has the same Accord-inspired styling. As is the sharp, vertical line at the door handles and the kink in lower doors, the Civic Hatchback has the same styling. Although the Hatchback is identical to the sedan’s front end, it seems that the rear will get unique taillights. The rear-end characteristics of the hatchback model are altered by its design. Although the Civic Hatchback was often the more sporty of the two, it seems that this has been lessened with the new model. The interior of the hatch should be the same. The latest Honda Sensing safety system, digital displays and other creature comforts should be available. The options include a touchscreen infotainment screen measuring 9.0 inches, a Bose 12-speaker stereo and other goodies for the sedan.
The Civic Hatchback will likely have the same powertrains that the Civic Sedan. This means the Civic Hatchback will either come with a 2.0-liter engine producing 158 horsepower (118kilowatts) and a turbocharged 1.5 liter engine producing 180 hp (135 kW). It is likely that the hatch will include a six-speed manual in addition to the standard CVT. However, it is not clear which engine it will be equipped with. Honda will unveil the 2022 Civic Hatchback in June 23. The new Civic will be available later in the year.
