Honda shows off the Civic’s true colors.
Honda has yet not revealed the 2022 Civic. Although it’s displayed a prototype of the vehicle, there have been many spy shots that reveal the final production version. The pre-reveal glimpses continue to reveal the secret. It is a difficult project. The new Civic is shown in two exterior colors, silver and white.
These two colors are likely to be called Platinum White Pearl or Lunar Silver Metallic. These names are used by Honda for the Civic’s current colors, but names from the 2022 model have been leaked online. Meteorite Gray, Morning Mist and other newcomers will join them. Aegean Blue and Ralley Red will be carried over colors, as well as Crystal Black Pearl, Sonic Gray, and Crystal Black Pearl. Honda will match the new Civic’s color scheme with either a gray interior or a black interior.
Although the spy shots show the new design of the car, it’s not new. The production Civic has been seen in spy photos before. The production Civic is almost identical to the prototype that was released last November. Honda has simplified the overall design of the car by adding a new grille, headlights and bumper to a sporty front bumper. A simple rear-end design features a modest bumper and a reserved taillight design.
The new Civic will be powered by familiar engines. The base engine will be the naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder Honda. Turbocharged 1.5-liter will replace it. The only choice is a continuous variable transmission. Honda has not revealed the interior. It only showed a minimalistic design. However, it will be packed full of new tech and features. Honda promised that the Civic would be available for production in the first quarter this year. This gives Honda six days to fulfill their promise.
