We can’t forget about the price.
The 2022 Honda Civic Si looks very promising. It’s equipped with a manual gearbox, revised powertrain and a more performance-oriented feature set. This is at least until the arrival of the Civic TypeR.
It’s all great until you start to see the world beyond your northern borders. YouTuber HondaPro Jason demonstrates what the Civic Si includes when purchased in Canada. These differences are clearly highlighted in the video, but even more important is the list of things American buyers will miss when they purchase a Civic Si in the US. There’s quite a bit.
The Canadian Honda Civic Si has fog lights on the exterior. The front and back parking sensors are included, as well as LED turn signals integrated into the side mirrors. The only advantage the US Civic Si has over the Canadian Civic Si is the availability of the $200 upgrade to High Performance Tires (HPT), which isn’t available north of Canada.
The Canadian Civic Si includes a 10.2-inch TFT display that can change depending on the drive mode. The cabin also features shift lights and heated front and rear seats.
The Canadian Civic Si also has dual-zone climate control. The rearview mirror can be auto-dimming, and it is integrated with a homelink for garage door integration. The US Civic Si does not have a wireless charger for smartphones.
It’s okay, not all these features are desirable ones for the US market. But wait until you discover that the Canadian Civic Si actually costs less than its US counterpart.
The Civic Si Canada price starts at CAD $33,150. This is approximately $26,180 at current exchange rates. The US version with all missing features starts at $27.300 .
