2022 Hyundai Casper Crossover reveals Interior with Folding Driver’s Chair

The front passenger seat can also be folded.

Hyundai offers more than one entry-level crossover, depending on where you live. The Venue is the entry level to Hyundai’s high-riding offerings, while the Bayon serves the same function in Europe. The brand’s cheapest crossover will be the Casper in South Korea. It is also significantly smaller than its international counterparts.

It measures only 3,595mm (141.5ins) in length, 1,595mm (62.8in) wide, 1,575mm (62in) high, and has a 2.4-meter (94.5 inch) wheelbase. It is small and compact, but it’s very practical inside. The front seats can be folded to make the Casper the world’s most adorable camper.

Hyundai has released new images this week that show its flexible interior, which includes its second row seats that can slide forward and backward by 160mm (6.3 inches). The rear seats can also be folded like the front ones and can recline up to 39 degrees. If both rows of seats can be folded, you can fit objects up to 2,059mm (81mm) in the rear. You can increase the cargo volume by moving the rear seats forward to the maximum position. This will allow you to carry 301 liters (10.6 cubic foot) of cargo.

Although the Casper may have a small cabin, Hyundai has managed to include seven airbags that can be used to enhance a wide range of safety and driver assistance systems. These include lane-keeping assistance and forward-collision warning aid, as well as high-beam and adaptive cruise control. The large touchscreen is larger than the larger, more expensive Hyundais and features a digital instrument cluster.

To make the cabin feel more spacious, the center console has been removed from the seats and replaced with a small armrest with two cup holders underneath. The minivan has the bottom of its center console extended to include the gear lever, which is located below many physical buttons that complement the infotainment.

The pint-sized hood conceals a three-cylinder, 1.0-liter naturally-aspirated engine with 75 horsepower and 95 Newton meters (70 pound-feet), of torque. A turbocharged version of the 1.0-liter engine is available with close to 100 horsepower. It also has a modified grille that improves air intake.

Prices start at less than $12,000 for the base trim, with the smaller engine, and go up to $16,000 for a flagship version with turbo three-pot. The product will be available in South Korea later this month, and India in 2022. Although reports suggest that an electric derivative will be launched in 2023, nothing is confirmed.
