The 2022 Cherokee is almost $6,000 cheaper than the 2021 Cherokee.
The Jeepworld has been focusing on the Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee. The non-grand Cherokee still trolls in background Although the midsize SUV is doing well in recent years, its bones date back as far as 2014, that doesn’t stop Jeep from shaking up their 2022 Cherokee lineup. We’ll be discussing the major changes in entry-level pricing shortly.
The Cherokee X is the new trim level. It adds a Trailhawk touch to the vehicle with rugged styling cues, a 1-inch suspension lift and all-terrain tires with black 17-inch wheels. The interior is made of a mixture of vinyl and black cloth. There are eight exterior colors available, but white is the only one that isn’t extra expensive.
It is the entry point to a substantially different Cherokee family. The base Latitude model is no longer available, but the Freedom, Altitude, and 80th Anniversary trims have been discontinued. The Latitude Lux is the luxurious base model for the rugged X, and comes with more standard equipment like dual-zone climate control (with a power liftgate), as well as more standard equipment. The Trailhawk and the Limited are the only trims available for 2022.
All Cherokee trims come standard with a Uconnect 4C 8.4 inch touchscreen and SiriusXM radio. All Cherokee trims have standard four-wheel drive except for the Latitude Lux, which allows you to turn only the front wheels. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder still has 270 horsepower (201 Kilowatts), but the 3.2-liter V6 offers one more hp and much less torque, 239 lb-ft (324 Newton-meters) instead of 295 lb-342 Nm – which is better than the four-pot. Shifting duties are handled by a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Jeep claims that the Cherokee X will become available in 2022. Jeep’s website lists all four Cherokee 2022 trims with their prices. Latitude Lux and Cherokee X share the same entry-level duties, with identical $33,995 prices. This is $5,860 more than the last year’s Cherokee X, but it also includes models with additional equipment. Comparing the 2021 Latitude Lux and 2022 Latitude Lux, we see a $2195 increase. This is a smaller but notable jump.
The 2022 Cherokee Trailhawk is priced at $37,045 and the Cherokee Limited at $38,745. Prices do not include a $1,595 destination charge.
