2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Two-Row Model Launches September 29
The 4xe plug in hybrid variant will also be revealed at the reveal.

Jeep split the Grand Cherokee line into two earlier in the year, introducing three-row Grand Cherokee L. Although the regular, two-row GC is still missing, there has not been a complete reveal. Next week, Jeep will reveal the 2022 Grand Cherokee. It will take place on September 29th and will also include the plug-in 4xe hybrid variant.

The GC’s front is shown in a teaser video that Jeep posted to its Instagram page. We first saw it earlier this year, when Jeep teased the 4xe model. The model was also captured by our spy photographers testing without any camouflage. The two-row Grand Cherokee is as elegant and sleek as its long stablemate. Although the GC L has a similar front, the GC GC’s grille opening is a little more sporty. The iconic grille of Jeep is located front and center, flanked with a pair sleek headlights.

The GC’s most distinctive styling features are located at the rear. Here, the greenhouse is smaller and has a unique floating-pillar design. The GC will be able to use the same powertrains as the larger GC L. This means that the entry-level models will feature the brand’s renowned 3.6-liter V6. It generates 290 horsepower (266 kW) and 257 pound feet (348 Newton-meters). Jeep will reserve the 5.7-liter Hemi Hemi V8, which produces 357 horsepower (266 kW), and 390 lbft (528 Nm), for the Summit and Overland models.

A plug-in hybrid powertrain will be available for the regular Grand Cherokee, as well as the standard Grand Cherokee. This was teased by the company this summer. Rumours persist that Jeep will continue to use the same configuration as the Wrangler 4xe, a turbocharged 2.0L engine paired with two electric motors. This combination produces 375 horsepower (280 kW) as well as 470 lb/ft (673Nm) of torque, making it the most powerful variant. Next week, we’ll have all the details at the debut which starts at 9 a.m. ET.
