The 2022 Defender comes with an even larger infotainment display.
The 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine under the hood produces 518 horsepower (386 Kilowatts) as well as 461 pound-feet (625 Newton meters) of torque. The engine runs through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This setup gets the eight-cylinder-powered Defender to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 149 mph (240 kph).
The Defender V8’s larger anti-roll bars allow for greater body roll control and are designed to reduce the extra power. For better cornering, the electronic active rear differential adds a yaw control. The Terrain Response system now has a Dynamic driving setting that improves throttle response and stiffens suspension.
The Defender V8 can be identified by the Xenon Blue front brake calipers and quad exhaust pipes. It also has 22-inch wheels. You can choose from Carpathian Grey or Yulong White as well as Santorini black.

The Defender V8 Carpathian Edition is available to buyers. It comes with a Carpathian Grey body, and skid pans. The roof, hood and tailgate are covered in Narvik Black. The exterior is protected by a protective film with semi-matte finishes.
Land Rover has made a few changes to the 2022 Defender, beyond the introduction of the V8 model. As an upgrade to the 10.0-inch display, Pivi Pro’s infotainment system has an 11.4-inch screen. The cabin now offers wireless charging for your devices.
You can also purchase new exterior design packs. The Bright Pack adds chrome to the skid plates, grille bars, and badges. Ceres Silver is also included in the Extended Bright Pack for lower body cladding, and wheel arches. The Extended Black Pack also adds gloss black trim to your body.
The new XS Edition is exclusive to the mild-hybrid 3.0-liter turbocharged, inline-six. replaces First Edition. This model uses the body colour to cover the lower wheel arches and cladding. The wheels are 20 inches in diameter and come with machined details. Ebony Grained leather is used inside, with Robust Woven Textile trim. Front occupants have 12-way adjustable, heated and cooled seats.
