It’s almost time to give the full-size luxury SUV a trim.
The LED daytime running lights signature now has a single, L-shaped bar. The headlight cluster has a slightly different design and seems to have slimmed down. This is not surprising considering that prototypes were being tested with no camo on them.
Ford’s luxury brand has not revealed much, although spy photos we showed earlier showed vehicles that had disguised taillights. This suggests there will be changes at the rear. The exterior changes are likely to be subtle, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, since the Navigator continues to be a handsome large SUV four years later.
Our professional photographers were able to get a glimpse inside the cabin. The dashboard looked almost identical in our latest spy shot. We expect the 2022 Navigator will switch to the Lincoln version of Ford’s SYNC 4 after the debut of the operating system on the smaller Nautilus in the 2021 model-year.
The Navigator being the brand’s flagship model, logic suggests that it will get ActiveGlide. This will be Lincoln’s equivalent to Ford’s BlueCruise version, which is the hands-free highway driving technology. It will not work on sections of divided highways designated Hands-Free Blue Zones, much like Blue Oval’s system.
The 2022 Navigator will be revealed to us in the days ahead. We expect Lincoln to unveil its new luxobarge.
