The big SUV will be given a new face.
GMC and Cadillac have dominated the world of luxury full-size SUVs, with the recent debuts of the Yukon and Escalade for the 2021 model years. These spy shots offer a glimpse of the refreshed Navigator, which is currently being developed.
The SUV, which is a baller, was found on Dearborn’s streets, Michigan. It doesn’t seem to be trying to reinvent the Navigator design. This is a Refresh Exterior updates are confined to the rear and front clips, after all. As is the trend for most automakers, the Navigator’s grille may grow in height. The redesigned headlights wrap around the fenders further, and the camouflage wrap does an excellent job hiding the lower fascia. However, this design could take cues from the elegant. Lincoln Aviator. The backside of the Navigator should reflect similar updates to the Aviator. We expect the existing model’s large, solid light bar to shrank, and smaller corner lenses will be pushed forward onto the quarter panels. The Navigator’s large rear step below the hatch will not be removed, so the lower fascia may only see minor modifications. We do not yet have any information on interior upgrades or new tech for Navigator. A revamped dash will feature a larger touchscreen at the center, as is evident by the Escalade’s large digital displays. In 2020, the Navigator’s 10-inch display seems a bit small. We expect that more controls will be moved to the greenhouse. The hybrid system from the new Ford F-150 will be visible under the skin.
Given that this is our first glimpse, a reveal could be months away. The updated Navigator will be available next summer in the 2022 model year, according to our current estimate.
