We are now able to experience the Mercedes Benz EQS debut. This one is in Orange County, California. It’s near the research and development center of the automaker, Long Beach, CA.

The official photos show a two-tone exterior, but this one has a monochromatic body in silver. The exterior is contrasted with bits of black trim and matching wheels. The majority of the video shows the EQS at the back. It also shows the full width taillights shining through in the darkness. On the roa, you can clearly see the Mercedes.

A front view shows the bright headlights as well as the LED strip that runs along the edge of the hood. It is a distinct face.

The side view provides a better look at the cabin. It is easy to see the Hyperscreen display, which raises questions about the vehicle. The bright screens could be distracting driving when driving at night. We won’t be able to know until we have the opportunity to drive the electric sedan for a longer time.

Two trim levels will be available for the EQS. The entry-level EQS 450+ is powered by 329 horsepower (245 kilowatts), and produces 406 pound-feet (405 newton-meters), of torque via a single rear-mounted electric motor. The EQS 580-4MATIC produces 516 hp (385 kW), and 611 lb-828 Nm from the electric motors on each axle. Each model has a 108.7-kilowatt hour lithium-ion battery. EPA-range estimates for both models are not yet available.

The EQS 580 will go on sale in the US this year. Mercedes has not yet disclosed pricing details but it is likely that the EQS 580 will start at around $150,000 and cost more than $100,000.
