Audi A4 Allroad is finally here. Here’s how it might look.
Mercedes is finishing up the EClass All-Terrain to provide a smaller alternative to its large SUV line-up. This comes nearly five years after the launch of the EClass All-Terrain . Since 2018 , rumors of a C Class All-Terrain have circulated on the Internet. Recent spy shots confirm that the three-pointed star will give the C-Class Estate some GLC-esque upgrades.
A new rendering by Kolesa.ru is based on the latest spy photos of the versatile C-Class. The All-Terrain will have a higher ride height and thicker plastic cladding around the wheel arches. This should allow it to compete with the Audi A4 Allroad, Volvo V60 Cross Country and Volvo V60 Cross Country in premium segments. This niche is also dominated by mainstream brands, such as the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack or the mechanically related Skoda Superb Scout.
The first-ever C-Class All-Terrain will be available as standard with 4Matic all-wheel drives. This will make it more expensive than the regular estate. The E-Class is priced approximately EUR2,000 higher than the standard estate in Germany. However, this is due to the fact that it comes with two drivetrains (E300de 4Matic and E220d 4Matic).
Mercedes already confirmed that the C-Class All-Terrain Mercedes will be revealed at IAA Munich in September ahead of a 2022 market launch.
Our spies captured a prototype All-Terrain while it was being finalized. It had less camouflage than before. Although the wagon will have greater ground clearance thanks to the raised suspension, it can still be used on rough terrains. However, you’ll still need to upgrade to the G-Class to get serious off-roading capability. GLC is a new alternative that targets outdoor families, but doesn’t depart too far from the wagon formula.
The wagon will not be the only variant of this model. There should be another long roof AMG C63 with an electrified 4-cylinder engine. Mercedes is rumored to be launching a two-door convertible in the C-Class range. However, we also hear that the Mercedes C-Class and E-Class coupes will be combined into one CLE model.
