Mercedes hasn’t yet announced when the W206 will be released, but it shouldn’t take much longer.
Our spy photographers have seen the Mercedes C-Class Sedan on numerous occasions. As the camouflage continues to fall, more of the production skin is being revealed, the official premiere must be just around the corner.
The S family has been simplified by the elimination of the coupe/convertible, but the C lineup will grow to include an All-Terrain variant to compete with the Audi A4 Allroad. The C-Class should be able to fight back against the SUV assault, including Mercedes’ GLC.
The ongoing coronavirus pandemic is making 2021 a difficult year for auto shows. Therefore, Mercedes may unveil the new C-Class at an independent event. It is likely that an official unveiling will take place in the next few months, with most of the disguise removed.
The logic tells us that the sedan will be first followed by the wagon and then the two-door models. The AMG and the C63 sporty C53 are likely to be revealed in 2022. They are believed to only come with electrified four-cylinder engine to the dismay of those who believe displacement is impossible to replace.
