The Mercedes GLC SUV is a top-selling model. The GLK was replaced by it in 2015. Its first appearance was in 2015. It was updated in the middle of its lifecycle in 2019, but Mercedes continues to work on the next generation. Although a reveal is expected to be over a year away, spy photos suggest that development is still ongoing.
The GLC is the cross-over counterpart to theC-Class The Modular Rear Architecture platform is now shared by. Even though the GLC has a shorter wheelbase and a lower stance, the underpinnings keep bloat under control. Mercedes could offer seven-seat layouts with more space between the wheels, as it does with its smaller GLC.GLB
Camouflage is still used to hide the crossover’s design, but there are already some improvements. The handles of the door are located lower to the sides, below the prominent beltline. Mercedes also moved the side mirrors below the A-pillar and placed them lower on the door. Although the fascia design is still unknown, we expect it will follow other Mercedes reveals. There are no placeholders for the taillights or headlights.
This means that the GLC is likely to be in the early stages for its redesign. Mercedes is currently finishing the C-Class development, which should be released later this year or early next. The next-gen GLC will not be revealed by Mercedes until at most a year later, in the late 2021 or early-2022. The GLC has been around for half a century, but Mercedes updated it for 2019.
The interior of the GLC will be completely redesigned. The MBUX infotainment software will be installed on the GLC. It has a large tablet-shaped screen that is located low in the middle console. The screen is rumored be similar to the new S Class but smaller to allow for physical climate control. They are integrated into the fancy S-Class.
Mercedes may include a variety of 2.0-liter engines in the new GLC. However, many models will likely feature hybridization. A version with all-electric EQ branding is also likely to be available.
