We were not expecting to see the Nismo model on today’s Z debut.
The third generation Note was introduced by Nissan in November 2020. It is a JDM supermini that is about the same size as a Volkswagen Polo and comes with an optional hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive for electric models. The Note Aura hatchback was slightly larger than the subcompact hatchback and featured a modified exterior. The spicy Nismo version is now available, with some visual enhancements.
The design was apparently inspired by a “swift-electrified city racer”, and Nissan has added a lot of red accents that you would see on a Nissan. Nismo -badged car. The car sits on 17-inch alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. It also has slightly more aggressive bumpers and a thicker roof spoiler. Inside, the Note Aura Nismo receives a pair body-hugging Recaro front seat in fabric and synthetic leather.
This FWD model is only available with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that serves as a generator for a front-mounted electric motor. A small lithium-ion battery packs and a small, naturally aspirated battery pack are also included. It’s basically an EV with a long range. The system is similar to the Note Aura’s 134 horsepower (100 Kilowatts) as well as 221 pound-feet (311 Newton-meters), of torque.
The Note is not the first to receive the Nismo treatment . While the previous generation was offered in a sporty variant, the horsepower and torque have increased by 25% and 18% respectively due to the ePower system. Nissan claims that the car’s styling changes bring aerodynamic benefits, and it has a stiffer body to improve handling.
The Note Aura Nismo is available at Nissan’s home in Japan for 2,869900 yen. This works out to approximately $26,200 at current exchange rate. It’s also possible to have the small hatchback converted into an electric vehicle (pure EV) with rear- and front-mounted motors for AWD. However, it is not available in Nismo attire.
