Is the sports car coming out before then?
In recent weeks, news about Nissan’s next sportscar has been strangely quiet. Except for a prominent Z Proto appearance in May, there has been little to keep performance enthusiasts on the edge. A new rumor suggests that the new Z may be available for purchase by Nissan buyers.
Keep the date in mind for November 15th, as this is the day that an anonymous Nissan official claims that order banks will be open for the new Z. The information was posted by a member of the New Nissan Z forum under the username ST00k. It stated that a “Nissan employee” had revealed the date. Although Nissan has not yet provided any official information, it is certainly not impossible to predict when the Z will be released. The Z is expected to debut in 2022, according to rumors. This rumor also matches up with a report that stated that Nissan was planning a launch for late-2021.
At this point, one thing is certain. When it comes to the development of the Z Proto, Nissan is not sitting still. Although the Z Proto was unveiled in September 2020, it was a prototype. However, we have seen mock-ups of the car in official Nissan presentations and in surprise appearances in videogames. We also have leaked photos that show the interior and exterior layout. The car will be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 400 horsepower (298kW), derived from the InfinitiQ60 Red Sport.
The name of the production car is something we don’t know yet. Although initially thought to be the 400Z model, leaked information from March suggests that it will be simply called the Z in Japan. Although we don’t know when the official debut will be made, it is likely that Nissan will fill the void left by the 370Z.
